Charity Shop Retail Assistant - Part Time

Salary: Meets National Living Wage

Hours per week: 6 days a month (to include 3 Saturday’s and one other day during the week - additional hours may be available). Additional hours will be required to cover holiday and sickness.


Join our fabulous charity shop team – and help animals in need!

Bristol Dogs & Cats Home provides care, shelter and a re-homing service for nearly 2,000 unwanted dogs, cats and small animals a year. Together with our RSPCA Veterinary Clinic they give thousands of local animals in need a second chance for a happy life, free from pain or neglect.

Our charity shop plays a vital part in raising money to care for the animals who rely on us for help, as well as providing us with a great platform to promote the fantastic work of Bristol Dogs and Cats Home.  When you become a member of our charity shop team, you're not just helping us to raise much needed funds - you're helping to save the lives of local animals in need.

As a Charity Shop Retail Assistant, you'll be joining a dedicated, committed and friendly team, to help to create a well-presented shop where customers get great service. It's a varied role, supporting the Shop Manager by maximising sales, assisting with our eBay shop, and handling stock as part of a dedicated team. You will also be required to assist with supporting our fantastic volunteer team. Remember that you could often be moving stock - which may involve lifting heavy goods or furniture (training will be provided).

To do this, you need to be organised, have proven IT skills and work well in a team. You should also have a GCSE-level education or equivalent, good basic arithmetic, a passion for excellent customer service and experience in the retail sector – preferably within the charity retail sector. With these talents, you'll deliver retail excellence to grow income and make a difference to local animals in need.
