Volunteers are the Lifeblood of the crucial work done by the Bristol Dogs and Cats Home and the RSPCA Bristol Animal Clinic. Whatever your skills, there will be a way for you to lend us a helping hand. All our volunteers need to be aged over 18, but you can commit as much or little time as you can spare.
If you have good communication skills and like meeting people, then maybe working as a charity shop assistant at our soon to be opened charity shop in Bedminster, or our shop right here on-site might be ideal for you.
Fundraising and event volunteers are always needed to help us raise the £1.6 million we need to cover our annual running costs.
Help out at Open Day, Fun Day & Dog Show and various fairs as well as some external events such as local dog shows and many other occasions. Help is always needed at collection days and occasionally in the fundraising office to help with basic admin. This is an opportunity to make friends (human and animal!) and really benefit our cause.
With so many animals to care for our Animal Care Assistants (ACA's) are in need of a little helping hand. If you have time to spare on a regular basis and would like to gain some valuable experience, why not apply to become one of our Volunteer ACA's.
We are very grateful to our team of Dog Walkers who help to exercise our canine friends. For more information about DOG WALKING, PLEASE CLICK HERE. PLEASE NOTE: Our books are currently closed to new Dog Walking applications - please check back here for updates, we very much appreciate your patience whilst we work through the dog walking registration forms.
NEW VOLUNTEER ROLE We are currently looking for a part-time Volunteer Van Driver (transport will be provided), to help us with the collection and delivery of food donations, goods for our charity shop, donations of items for the animals in our care, and the occasional transportation of animals as required. A clean driving license and the ability to carry out a manual handling role are essential. As you would be representing the RSPCA Bristol and District Branch and Bristol Dogs & Cats Home whilst out in the community, a friendly and helpful disposition is required. Manual handling and health and safety training will be provided. For more information about this role, or to apply, please contact us on 0117 9714197 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Help Needed! Can anyone spare an hour (or more!) of their time to help us with the laundry? Over 150 blankets are washed and dried here at the Home every single day of the year! We are looking for some dedicated people, that don't mind handling mucky blankets (we do provide gloves!), working as part of a fabulous team, the job involves; loading, folding and organising. It could be for just an hour, half a day or whatever suits! Please contact our reception team if you can help, or to find out more, on: 0117 9724567
